Temporary and mobile-site power

Weichai generator sets for constructionconfigured for the site

Power planning for cranes, welders, temporary accommodation and site services. We consider mobility, weather protection, noise constraints, emissions category and service access.

No finished specification required — a load list and site location are enough to begin.

Start with the project, not the model

Each route changes the recommended power range, engineering checks and project language for that application.

50 Hz power guide

From local standby to a multi-set plant

The range is only a starting point. Final selection is based on the precise 50 Hz model table, duty, transient response and site conditions.

Noise and emissions requirements

Three verified 50 Hz reference points

Published Weichai factory models. Prime and emergency standby ratings are deliberately shown as separate values.

Reference models do not replace project selection. Final ratings, emissions approval and conformity documents must match the exact build.

Generator-set format

The same kW rating can be a different system

Installation format changes ventilation, acoustics, fuel, controls, logistics and maintenance — often more than moving one model up or down.

Open generator set
01

Open generator set

For a dedicated plant room with project-designed ventilation, exhaust routing, acoustic treatment and safe maintenance access.

Acoustic enclosure
02

Acoustic enclosure

For outdoor or near-building installation. Sound pressure figures must be verified for the exact configuration and measurement distance.

03

Containerised system

A project solution for climate control, increased fuel autonomy, fire strategy, service access and integrated switchgear.

Engineering workflow

Four steps to a defendable specification

Poor inputs cost more than the difference between adjacent models. The sizing basis is therefore documented, reviewable and project-specific.

01

Build the load schedule

Connected equipment, operating power, diversity and the intended starting sequence.

02

Model transient demand

Motors, compressors, pumps, lifts, UPS systems and non-linear loads are assessed separately.

03

Compare configurations

Power range, duty, enclosure, controls, redundancy and site interfaces are reviewed together.

04

Issue a project specification

Model, prime and standby ratings, selected options, assumptions and required documentation.

European project readiness

Compliance is checked per configuration

An engine brand alone does not establish conformity of the finished generator set. The project must identify the application, complete machine, country of installation and applicable rules.

01

Electrical basis

50 Hz and the project voltage — commonly 400/230 V, but always confirmed against the site network.

02

Conformity package

CE marking, EU Declaration of Conformity, manuals and technical file are checked for the complete genset configuration.

03

Emissions category

Stationary and mobile applications are screened separately. Stage V is not claimed unless supported by the exact engine approval.

04

Country requirements

Noise, fuel storage, fire safety, grid interface and installation permits remain project- and country-specific.

Traceable facts, qualified claims

What the source documents actually support

Manufacturer data is kept separate from distributor terms. Availability, lead time, warranty, conformity and emissions approval are confirmed in the project quotation for the exact configuration.

Five useful questions

If a full design is not yet available, begin with the country, application and load list. The missing inputs can be structured afterwards.

01How is the required generator power calculated?

Adding nameplate ratings is not enough. We need simultaneous demand, motor starting currents, load type, permitted voltage dip and the operating duty. The first output is a documented power range; the exact model follows once the assumptions are agreed.

02What is the difference between prime and standby power?

Prime power applies to operation under the manufacturer's defined prime-duty conditions. Standby power is an emergency rating with specific limits. Both figures are shown separately so a standby rating is never presented as continuous output.

03Does every Weichai generator set comply with EU Stage V?

No universal claim should be made. Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 distinguishes engine categories and excludes stationary machinery from its scope. For mobile generating sets, the exact engine type approval and application must be verified before quotation.

04What does CE marking cover?

CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration that the complete product meets the EU rules applicable when it is placed on the market. Documentation must be checked for the finished generator set and its options, not inferred from the engine brand alone.

05Can the generator be installed outdoors?

Yes, with an appropriate enclosure or container and a project that addresses ambient temperature, rain, ventilation, exhaust, acoustics, fuel, foundations and safe maintenance access.
